TACLOBAN CITY — More than 900 municipal fishers in Biliran province received fuel assistance from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to support small-scale fishers who are heavily affected by the wild fluctuations in petroleum prices. The fuel aid distribution was held under the Fuel Discount Program for Farmers and Fisherfolk (FDPFF) caravan at the Provincial Fisheries Office in Barangay Atipolo of Naval town on Monday and Tuesday. Beneficiaries came from the municipalities of Almeria, Biliran, Cabucgayan, Caibiran, Culaba, Kawayan, Maripipi, and Naval, each receiving fuel discount cards loaded with P3,000.
