"Hundreds of visitors took photos sitting on a ten-foot-tall satirical art installation called the 'golden toilet' near the Lincoln Memorial on Washington DC’s National Mall on Monday, intended to mock President Trump's remodelling of the Lincoln Bathroom at the White House last year. Footage shows the golden toilet bowl on a faux-marble pedestal as visitors took selfies and posed for photos. Titled ‘A Throne Fit For A King’, artists also placed a plaque on the side of the installation, reading: "In a time of unprecedented division, escalating conflict and economic turmoil, President Trump focused on what really mattered: Remodeling the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. This, his crowning achievement, is a bold reminder that the president isn’t just a businessman, he’s taking care of business. It stands as a tribute to an unwavering visionary who looked down, saw a problem, and painted it gold." The protest group known as the 'Secret Handshake' installed the golden throne, part of a series of satirical statues targeting President Trump and his allies since he took office. The group is also credited with creating artworks referencing Jeffrey Epstein and securing permits through an intermediary while keeping its members’ identities hidden."
