MANILA, Philippines—Converge forward Calvin Abueva was fined P20,000 by the PBA for his “malicious and unfounded accusation” against the referees in the FiberXers’ loss to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings. According to a letter by PBA commissioner Willie Marcial to Abueva, the veteran forward was “recorded by members of the media shouting, ‘paldo ang 4 na referees'” on his way to the dugout at Araneta Coliseum following the game.
