Crime Statistics 2025 Presented: Youth Crime as "Problem Child"

Last year, 538,656 criminal offenses were reported by the police to the judiciary. 53.6 percent of these cases were solved. These statistics were presented by Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) on Tuesday at a press conference in Vienna. "We still live in one of the safest countries in the world, but not on an island of the blessed," summarized the head of the department. "Problem child" remains juvenile delinquency.
