It's military 101, don't tell your enemy what you're willing to do - Hegseth won't rule out 'ground invasion'

"War Secretary Pete Hegseth refused to rule out a 'ground invasion' in Iran as he spoke from the Pentagon on Tuesday. "It's sort of military 101. Don't tell your enemy what you're willing to do or not do, and don't tell your enemy when you're willing to stop, especially an enemy that likes to hide in bunkers and try to hoard their missiles and hope you'll wait you out so that's not a question i'm going to answer," he said. US officials have repeatedly hinted at sending ground troops to the country. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said that Tehran was "waiting for American soldiers to enter on the ground so they can rain fire upon them". Last week, Trump said he had had 'very good discussions' with a 'top person' in Iran - reported in the media to be Qalibaf although the speaker himself denied it. Iran's Foreign Ministry also denied talks had taken place, saying that 'exchanging messages' did not amount to negotiations. The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with the conflict now into its fifth week. Iran has reported over 1,900 deaths since the start of the war. The US has confirmed at least 13 military service personnel killed with around two dozen fatalities admitted by the Israeli side."
