UAE Weather Forecast: Hail in Abu Dhabi, Rain Lashes Dubai and Parts of the Country as Storm System Moves Through

Unsettled weather continued to sweep across the UAE on Tuesday evening, March 31. Hail fell over the Dhafra region while heavy rains poured along the Dubai Al Ain Road, as showers that had earlier hit Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and parts of Abu Dhabi through the afternoon pushed further across the country. Abu Dhabi Police reduced speed limits to 100 km/h on Maktoum Bin Rashid Road between Al Mafraq Bridge and Ghantoot. Motorists are urged to take care on the roads. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed that the atmospheric disturbance would keep conditions unsettled through Tuesday evening and into Wednesday, though the agency stressed this incoming system is considerably weaker than the storm that lashed the country last Friday, the one that triggered widespread thunderstorms, lightning, and water logging in multiple regions. What is causing the rain today? The current wet spell is being driven by a surface low-pressure area interacting with an upper-level atmospheric trough.
