FBR misses tax target by Rs610bn

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs9,307 billion during July-March (2025-26) against the downward revised target of Rs9917 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs 610 billion. The FBR has not officially released revenue collection figures on Tuesday. The FBR has collected Rs 1185 billion during March 2026 against the monthly target of Rs1367 billion, showing a shortfall of Rs182 billion. The tax collection target of the FBR was revised downward - from Rs 14,307 billion to Rs 13,979 billion for 2025-26, reflecting a decrease of Rs 328 billion.
