Over 44,000 passengers in ports early Holy Wednesday, says PCG

MANILA, Philippines – Passenger traffic surged in ports nationwide on Holy Wednesday, April 1, as the Semana Santa exodus continued, following the high volume recorded the previous day. From midnight to 6 a.m., the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported 22,135 outbound passengers and 22,503 inbound travelers, totaling over 44,000 individuals moving through ports across the country. On Holy Tuesday, March 31, authorities logged 186,952 outbound passengers and 152,492 inbound travelers, bringing the combined total to nearly 340,000 traveling in ports nationwide.
