MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed a team to investigate a student’s claims that her sisters were sexually abused at the hands of a Tinambac, Camarines Sur barangay kagawad (councilor) and his sons. In a statement on Wednesday, PNP chief, Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. detailed that he ordered a specialized team from the Women and Children Protection Center to handle the case. “Investigators are now gathering evidence to determine appropriate criminal charges against the accused kagawad,” Nartatez said.
