Capital gathering - Tehran marks Islamic Republic Day as US-Israeli strikes continue

"Thousands gathered in Tehran’s Vali Asr Square on Tuesday evening to mark Islamic Republic Day, as US-Israeli strikes on Iran continued. Footage shows people waving Iranian flags and holding portraits of late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, while singing the national anthem and chanting slogans. Similar gatherings took place in Tehran's Tohid and Enghelab squares, while the Iranian president attended the evening celebrations. Events were also held in Bandar Abbas and Karaj, with the national anthem played across the country. Islamic Republic Day marks the 1979 referendum that established the Islamic Republic after the fall of the monarchy. The anniversary is observed each year with official ceremonies, speeches, public rallies and state media coverage, with some events also featuring military displays. The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with the conflict now into its fifth week. Iran has reported over 1,900 deaths since the start of the war. The US has confirmed at least 13 military service personnel killed, with around two dozen fatalities admitted by the Israeli side."
