MANILA, Philippines – The United States may invite China to join the 2026 Indo-Pacific Scientific Summit, an official from the US Department of Defense said on Wednesday. The summit is organized by the US Defense POW/MIA (prisoners of war/missing in action) Accounting Agency (DPAA), where scientists and representatives from 16 nations in the Indo-Pacific are gathered. “We will likely extend an invitation to China to join in this forum, where best practices are exchanged, and forensic archaeological sciences advance,” DPAA Director Kelly McKeague said in a press briefing.
