A new one-day exhibition in Prague will invite visitors into a personal world of body image, identity, and self-acceptance. On April 18, artist Mench will present Joy Comes Back at Viadukt Karlín’s Oblouk 36, a vaulted space inside the historic viaduct in Prague 8. The exhibition will run for one day only, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The show brings together paintings created over the past three years. According to the artist, the works reflect an emotional journey from inner chaos and uncertainty to moments of calm, acceptance, and personal growth. Rather than following a straight story, the paintings move through themes such as vulnerability, intimacy, connection, and self-perception. Together, they explore how people see themselves, how they relate to their bodies, and how difficult periods can sometimes lead to change. At the center of the exhibition is the human body. Nudity appears throughout the paintings, not as decoration, but as a way of expressing honesty and emotion. The main message behind the exhibition is simple: joy does not stay forever, but it always finds its way back.
