A Delhi court has convicted Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti in a cheating case. The court found Bharti and another accused guilty of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery. They conspired to defraud a bank by continuing to draw higher interest rates beyond the initial fixed deposit period. The forgery of bank documents was central to the scheme.
