Hope for Bengal electors pending under adjudication, but uncertainty over redressal at tribunals

West Bengal may see the 2026 Assembly election with far fewer electors than in 2024 Lok Sabha polls (7.60 crore) and 2021 Assembly polls (7.34 crore). Current electoral roll stands at 7.04 crore, including 60 lakh cases under adjudication, with about 40% rejections.
