Multan Sultans hunt down 226 as Farhan’s ton sinks Hyderabad Kingsmen

Multan Sultans pulled off a commanding six-wicket win over Hyderabad Kingsmen in a high-scoring Pakistan Super League clash on Wednesday, riding on a superb century by Sahibzada Farhan. Chasing a daunting 226, the Sultans reached 227/4 in 18.4 overs, with eight balls to spare, as Farhan anchored the innings with an unbeaten 106 off 57 balls, laced with seven fours and eight sixes. He found strong support from Steven Smith, who smashed 46 off 20 balls, while Arafat Minhas chipped in with a quick, unbeaten 26 to seal the chase. Earlier, Kingsmen posted an imposing 225/5 in their 20 overs, powered by half-centuries from Maaz Sadaqat (62 off 26) and Sharjeel Khan (51 not out). For the Sultans, Mohammad Wasim picked up two wickets, while Peter Siddle, Mohammad Nawaz and Ashton Turner claimed one apiece. Despite a competitive total, Kingsmen’s bowlers struggled to contain the Sultans’ aggressive batting, with Saim Ayub taking two wickets but conceding heavily. The win strengthens Multan’s position in the PSL standings, while Kingsmen were left to rue missed opportunities in a run-fest in Lahore.
