Hazel Mae gets another unintentional Gatorade shower meant for Toronto Blue Jays player

Hazel Mae doesn't get paid enough. The beloved Sportsnet broadcaster, who works as a field-level reporter on Toronto Blue Jays broadcasts, fell victim to the Gatorade bucket again on Tuesday. As is tradition after Blue Jays home wins, whoever gets picked for the post-game television interview also gets doused in Gatorade. On Tuesday, it was new Blue Jays outfielder Jesús Sánchez, following Toronto's 5-1 win at home against the Colorado Rockies. Sánchez went two-for-four in the game, with an RBI. So naturally, he got doused in Gatorade. But Hazel caught the strays. Mae spotted Vladimir Guerrero Jr. out of the corner of her eye and was ready to jump out of the way. But the Blue Jays slugger simply stood next to the bucket with his arms crossed, telling her to "keep going." Mae has gotten really good at dodging the Gatorade shower over the years, but this time, she was caught off guard when Vladdy eventually attacked. With Gatorade still dripping off her, the always-professional Mae continued with the interview. "I always tell people that I am in their space," Mae said in an interview with Pooja Handa and Gurdeep Ahluwalia on 98.1 CHFI. "My director, Troy Clara, will say, 'Hey, it's coming, get ready.' Trying to time it at the same time, instead of getting full on in my face." Unlike the players, who shower and change in the clubhouse immediately after, Mae said she doesn't even bring a change of clothes to the ballpark. "There have been times where I've taken a cab home and after the sugar in the Gatorade kind of congeals," she said in the CHFI interview. "I would lean back, and you could literally hear the crunch in my hair from the Gatorade."
