LAHORE: Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Moazzam Iqbal Sipra held a meeting with a delegation of the World Bank, who visited the PRA headquarters, to discuss key reforms aimed at strengthening the monitoring of the services sector across Punjab. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the implementation of real-time monitoring of the services sector through Point of Sale (POS) systems. The delegation was also briefed on the upgradation of PRA’s monitoring system under the ‘Connected Punjab Programme.’ According to the PRA, various proposals regarding the monitoring framework, invoicing rules and business integration were reviewed in the meeting. Emphasizing future readiness, the Chairman PRA proposed that system improvements should be designed by taking into account the requirements of the next 10 years. He reiterated that invoicing by registered taxpayers and real-time monitoring will be ensured to enhance transparency and compliance. He further said that strict legal action will be taken against violations of electronic invoicing system regulations. It was also shared that the World Bank, in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board will provide technical support for the upgradation of PRA’s digital systems.
