'Artemis II, now bound for the Moon! - NASA crewed lunar mission lifts off from Kennedy Space Centre on 10-day journey

"NASA's first crewed mission to the Moon in more than half a century successfully lifted off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida on Wednesday. Artemis II is carrying NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Cook, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day mission around the moon and back. The mission is a test flight, designed to evaluate the Orion crewed system performance in a deep space environment. "America is going back to the Moon!" US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Artemis II, among the most powerful rockets ever built, is launching our Brave Astronauts farther into Deep Space than any human has EVER gone. We are WINNING, in Space, on Earth, and everywhere in between — Economically, Militarily, and now, BEYOND THE STARS," he added. Following a successful lunar flyby, the astronauts will return to Earth and splash down in the Pacific Ocean. NASA said it will send Artemis astronauts on increasingly difficult missions to explore the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build for the first crewed missions to Mars."
