'It never stops shining!' - Luminous 'Pink Moon' transforms Mexico City's night sky in stunning celestial display

"The first full moon of April rose over Mexico City on Wednesday night, glowing brightly as it marked the arrival of spring and the beginning of Holy Week. Known as the 'Pink Moon', the dazzling spectacle drew dozens of people to gather around historic monuments as it illuminated the night sky. Footage shows the full moon resting over different buildings and monuments, reaching an orange hue on the horizon due to the reflection of the Earth's atmosphere. "It impresses me how, from when it starts rising, it has a size, and then it reduces, and the colour tones keep changing. So yes, I really like observing the moon," said a resident. "It always gives me a lot of calm to see the moon, because I feel it reminds me that even though it is surrounded by darkness and is alone, it never stops shining. I love all its phases because it always reminds me that, regardless of the phase it is in, it is always shining and standing out. I love it," mentioned a tourist. The name of the phenomenon is not due to its colour change, but to traditions of the Native American peoples, who associated it with the early blooming of Phlox subulata, known as 'Moss Pink', one of the first flowers to cover the landscape at the start of spring. Although the phenomenon could be seen with the naked eye from anywhere in the world, in Mexico City, the 'Pink Moon' was observed from sunset on April 1, reaching its peak illumination around 8:11 PM Mexico City time."
