'Massive explosion' - Nahariya residents left shocked after alleged Hezbollah missile strikes children's school

"Residents in the northern Israeli city of Nahariya described the moment a reported Hezbollah rocket struck a daycare centre, just moments after they rushed into a shelter. Footage shows police and emergency crews gathered outside the impacted kindergarten, where heavy damage is visible to the building. A classroom was left in ruins, with shattered windows and debris scattered throughout. “There was an alarm, and as usual, we ran to the safe room. After exactly 30 seconds, there was a boom. There was a massive explosion. It was like it touched our iron windows. We came out and saw the damage,” said Oleg Leikin, a resident. “We live in this building, we felt all the bombs in the area, very, very hard bombs, and we saw what happened. The school, the little school, got bombed, but we have a holiday today, and nobody was inside,” added another resident, Avner. The children's daycare centre was hit during a barrage fired from Lebanon on Thursday, according to reports. Authorities confirmed no casualties at the time of publishing. Israeli reports said at least two additional locations were struck, with homes and businesses damaged across the area. Hezbollah announced a major escalation in its operations on Wednesday, launching strikes on Israeli military positions. The group said the attacks were in response to continued Israeli operations in southern Lebanon, including IDF airstrikes and the ongoing ground offensive."
