ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Chaudhry Mohammad Ali Randhawa, former Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, as Director General (DG) Immigration and Passports. According to a notification issued here by the Establishment Division, Randhawa, a BS-20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS), was holding charge of chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). He is transferred and posted as DG Immigration and Passports under the Interior and Narcotics Control Division with immediate effect. Randhawa replaces Mustafa Jamal Kazi, a BS-20 officer of the erstwhile PCS cadre, who had been serving in the position since August 21, 2023. It is pertinent to mention here that Randhawa was removed from the post of Chief Commissioner Islamabad on April 1 and transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.
