CBCP: Put prayer at the center of Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines — The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is urging Filipino families to refocus Holy Week on shared prayer and spiritual renewal, rather than treat it mainly as a time for reunions, social gatherings and routine traditions. Lipa Archbishop Gilbert Garcera, CBCP president, said the annual observance calls for a deeper encounter with faith, rooted in reflection on the Passion, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
