Pakistan-China’s five-point initiative: Dar steps up peace efforts

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held extensive high-level talks with Türkiye and Egypt on Thursday to advance Pakistan-China’s five-point initiative. The proposal represents a collaborative diplomatic push to secure a peaceful end to the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East in the wake US-Israel-Iran war. According to Foreign Office statement, DPM/FM separately spoke with Foreign Minister of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan and Egypt Dr Badr Abdellety. FM Fidan acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue and diplomacy, and discussed the Pakistan-China Five-Point Initiative, underscoring its role in fostering peace and stability in the Gulf & Middle East. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and stability. They agreed to maintain close contact on regional developments and matters of mutual interest. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar telephoned Wednesday night with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty. FM Abdelatty thanked the DPM/FM for the warm hospitality extended during the recent 4 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Islamabad. He also appreciated the Pakistan-China five-point initiative aimed at promoting dialogue and resolving the conflict.
