LUCENA CITY — Five fishermen were rescued on Good Friday, April 3, after their boat engine failed amid rough seas off Batangas City, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported. According to the Batangas PCG station, the fishing boat, carrying five fishermen, departed Barangay Cuta early Friday for a routine fishing trip. While at sea near Barangay Dela Paz, strong waves caused seawater to enter the engine, leading to a malfunction that left the boat stranded.
