New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movie to Recast Its Biggest Star

New Line Cinema The Lord of the Rings will have a new Aragorn, the director of the film series’s newest installment has revealed. Andy Serkis, who is directing The Hunt for Gollum as well as reprising his on-screen role as Gollum, told ScreenRant that he was ready to put the “speculation” about the role of Aragorn—played iconically by Viggo Mortensen— to rest. “I don’t know what’s out there at the moment, but I know there’s a lot of speculation,” he said, “but let’s just say we are recasting the role and we are on the way to finding someone.” Read more at The Daily Beast.
