Streets of chocolate! Bariloche chocolatiers break world record with 222-metre Easter bar

"Master chocolatiers and volunteers broke a world record on Friday, crafting a 222-metre chocolate bar at the city's annual National Chocolate Festival in Bariloche. Footage shows more than 200 chocolatiers working side by side to shape and cut the giant bar before handing out pieces to visitors gathered in the streets who taste the chocolate and describe it as 'wonderful' and 'very delicious'. The bar, made from nearly 2,000 kilograms of chocolate, surpasses the 220-metre record set in 2025. "Many chocolatiers take part, all the chocolate companies from Bariloche. The city brings its people out into the streets, so it will be a great celebration," said Fernando, one of the participating chocolatiers. With temperatures set to drop by evening, Fernando was confident the conditions would work in their favour. "The cold will help us; it will help the chocolate harden, so it will be good," he remarked. "For us, this is like the finishing touch, because in recent months, with Easter production, chocolate shops usually work a lot. After today, a well-deserved rest will follow," the chocolatier added. The festival forms part of Bariloche's Easter celebrations, which began on Holy Thursday and run through Easter Sunday. Alongside the record attempt, the city offered visitors food tours, drone performances, mapping shows, and face painting for children."
