Mission im-peck-able! Climber rescues freezing sparrow on Manaslu mountain in Nepal

"Mountaineers Vasili Pivtsov and Mikhail Tarasov demonstrated that even in the harshest conditions, there is still room for kindness. While climbing Nepal's Manaslu, they found a frozen sparrow and, warming it in a mitten, carried it to the summit. Footage filmed on September 28, 2025, shows Pivtsov releasing the rescued bird from the mountain top. "I've been carrying it from camp," Pivtsov said. "Looks like it's dried off now; it was wet. Maybe it'll fly now. Go, go, go!" Manaslu, located in the west-central Nepalese Himalayas, is the eighth-highest peak in the world. Its summit rises at 8,163 metres above sea level."
