DAVAO CITY – A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Occidental at 6:34 p.m. on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The earthquake’s epicenter was traced 59 kilometers southeast of the island town of Sarangani and had a depth of 10 kilometers. The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in General Santos City.
