Erased in a blast - Israeli airstrike levels building in southern Lebanon's Tyre

"An Israeli airstrike levelled a building in the Zkouk al-Mafdi area, also known as the Ma’arka junction, in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on Saturday. Footage shows the building collapsing after a direct hit. Emergency rescue teams can later be seen rushing to the demolished structure. Lebanese media reported that "Israeli warplanes carried out a raid on the Hammadiye area east of Tyre, and another on the threatened building at the Ma'arka junction in the outskirts of Tyre". Lebanese media reported that Israeli warplanes struck the Hammadiye area east of Tyre, and targeted a building at the Ma'arka junction on the outskirts of the city. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee had issued an evacuation warning to the residents of Tyre, Hammadiye, Zkouk al Mafdi, and Borj El Chmali, stating: "Hezbollah's activities force the Israel Defense Forces to act strongly against it. The IDF does not intend to harm you." "For your safety, we urge you to evacuate your homes immediately according to the areas shown on the map and move north of the Zahrani River," the statement added. Tensions have escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, amid diplomatic talks aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear and missile programmes. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israeli and US assets in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor. The conflict spilt over into Lebanon as Hezbollah intervened 'in revenge' for the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader. Lebanon's Health Ministry said that 1,422 people have been killed and 4,294 wounded in Israeli attacks on the country since March 2."
