A motorbike rider has died in a crash on State Highway 1 in Northland. Police were called to the single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near the intersection with Waipu Gorge Road just before 9.40 this morning. “The rider died at the scene,” police said. State Highway 1 remains open. “The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination, and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.”
