"Hundreds of protesters gathered in Jerusalem on Saturday, calling on the government to end the war against Iran amid the ongoing regional conflict. Footage shows protesters rallying, drumming, and carrying banners reading 'Funds for public, not for coalition' and 'Stop the war', among others. "I think the war is not only criminal, but it's unsuccessful. You know, everyone is talking about Hormuz, but Hormuz was open before the war," proclaimed Joseph Zeira, professor of Economics at Hebrew University. He also pointed to past diplomatic efforts, citing the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, and argued that returning to such frameworks could provide a path forward. "All we had to do is go back to that agreement," Zeira declared. "We want to build a better future for everyone who is here. Palestinians, Israeli, everyone. We just want to raise our kids peacefully," said Cheryl, one of the demonstrators, adding, "We want all the money that we pay for taxes to go for building a better life for everyone right here." Cheryl remarked that Israelis should focus on their own future rather than relying on foreign leaders. "Trump is not my president. He's the president of the United States, and I'm Israeli. We need to take care of our own business. We need to build our own future." Rally participant Sharon described Israel as being caught in a prolonged "in the circles of war, a vicious circle against Hamas and against Hezbollah and against Iran," stressing, "Maybe now it should be a diplomatic solution." The protests come amid an escalating regional conflict, after the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, despite diplomatic talks aimed at curbing Tehran's ongoing nuclear and missile programmes. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israeli and US assets in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor."
