Danger heat index forecast to hit some PH areas on Monday, April 6

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said the danger level heat index is forecast to hit Dumangas, Iloilo and Catarman, Northern Samar, anew on Monday. On Easter Sunday, both areas were also hit by the danger level heat index. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) defines heat index as the “measure of the contribution that high humidity makes with abnormally high temperatures in reducing the body’s ability to cool itself.” Indices ranging from 33ºC to 41ºC are automatically categorized as “extreme caution,” while those ranging from 42ºC to 51ºC are tagged “danger,” due to increased risks […]...
