"Hundreds joined a pro-Palestinian rally in Milan on Saturday, to protest against a Knesset's new law mandating the death penalty for Palestinians convicted of deadly 'terrorist' attacks. Footage shows activists with their hands tied standing dressed in prisoner uniforms, with some of the demonstrators holding nooses. Protesters marched with Palestinian flags and banners among others reading: 'With the Palestine resistance, In the trust of the people who fight' and 'No to war, genocide, police state, free everyone now'. On Monday, Israel passed that mandates the death penalty for 'terrorists' - with executions by hanging within 90 days and limited appeal options. It does allow for life imprisonment under special circumstances. The new Israeli initiative has been condemned by the UN, the EU, and human rights organisations worldwide. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the move was intended to "strengthen deterrence against terrorism and to ensure those who carry out deadly attacks face the full force of the law." The United States expressed support for Israel's "sovereign right to determine its own laws." In the last month alone, local monitoring groups say Israeli forces have carried out over 7,300 incidents against Palestinians, including killings, raids, arrests, property destruction, and restrictions on freedom of movement allegations that Israel denies."
