Rail infrastructure from Karachi to Dhabeji inspected

KARACHI: Divisional Superintendent of Pakistan Railways, Karachi, Mahmood-ur-Rehman Lakho, inspected railway infrastructure from Karachi Departure Yard to Dhabeji on Sunday, using a motor trolley, officials said. The inspection team reviewed bridges, stations, and level crossings along the route and issued directives to improve safety, maintenance, and operational efficiency. Officials accompanying the Superintendent included senior railway engineers, who assessed track conditions, gauge alignment and related installations. Lakho directed staff to further strengthen fittings and fastening systems to ensure safe train operations. Special attention was given to security and operational arrangements at key locations, including Malir Colony, where instructions were issued to railway police and staff to enhance vigilance. At Landhi Railway Station, the Superintendent ordered improvements in passenger facilities, including making newly constructed washrooms fully functional. “Providing safe and improved facilities to passengers remains the top priority of Pakistan Railways,” Lakho said, urging all departments to further enhance their performance.
