LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message on the International Day of Conscience, stated that the day serves as a reminder to renew our commitment to the values of love, peace, and tolerance. She emphasized that the survival of humanity depends on keeping the conscience of people across the world alive. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that for the end of wars and the establishment of lasting peace, every nation must listen to the voice of its conscience. She noted that the United Nations’ observance of this day encourages reflection and reinforces adherence to universal principles of fundamental freedoms and human rights. She added that compassion must remain an essential part of human conscience to ensure collective welfare. Highlighting the theme for 2026, “Conscious Decisions for a Better Future,” she stressed the importance of thoughtful and responsible choices. She also pointed out that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir has been knocking on the conscience of the world for over seven decades, while the suffering of people in Gaza Strip serves as a moment of reflection for the global community.
