"The Tofigh Daru pharmaceutical research and development centre in Tehran has been reduced to ruins following an alleged Israeli strike that severely damaged its facilities. Footage captured on Sunday reveals the extent of the destruction, with collapsed walls and rubble blanketing the floors where laboratory equipment and workstations once stood. "The war criminals in Israel are now openly and unashamedly bombing pharmaceutical companies," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X Tuesday. "Their intentions are clear. What they have gotten wrong is that they are not dealing with defenceless Palestinian civilians. Our Powerful Armed Forces will severely punish aggressors," he added. Israeli authorities have not commented on the strike or claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of publication. Tensions have escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, amid diplomatic talks aimed at curbing 'Iran's nuclear and missile programmes.' Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israeli and US assets in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor."
