MANILA, Philippines—The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) on Monday said it is eyeing the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in an effort to reduce carbon emissions by up to 65 to 80 percent. In a statement, Caap said the country is “well-positioned” for the transition to sustainable energy because of its strong agricultural sector, particularly its rice and coconut production, as the waste materials can be converted into aviation fuel.
