War wreckage - IRGC releases footage allegedly showing US aircraft wreckage near Isfahan

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) released footage on Sunday that allegedly shows the crash site of a US fighter jet south of Isfahan. The video shows wreckage and debris scattered across the site, with several people seen walking nearby.  The exact date and location of the footage cannot be independently verified. "The desperate efforts of the enemy, by the grace of Almighty God and divine assistance, and through timely actions and joint operations of the warriors of Islam in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the heroic Basij, and the law enforcement forces, to rescue their downed fighter pilot have been defeated. Enemy invading aircraft in southern Isfahan, including two Black Hawk helicopters and one C130 military transport plane, were hit and are burning in the wrath of the heroic warriors of Islam," the IRGC said in a statement on Sunday. The United States briefly commented, saying two MC-130 aircraft suffered a 'mechanical failure' and were unable to take off, adding that the US troops then destroyed the disabled aircraft, along with four additional helicopters inside Iran, to avoid leaving sensitive equipment behind.   US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the US military had pulled off the second pilot whose plane crashed in Iran on Friday, April 3, and he is now 'safe and sound'. "Over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in US History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is now SAFE and SOUND!" Trump wrote on the 'Truth Social' platform, noting that 'dozens of aircraft' conducted the rescue operation. The US-Israeli conflict with Iran erupted on February 28 amid diplomatic efforts to curb Tehran's nuclear and missile programmes. It soon escalated regionally, affecting Gulf states and Lebanon, while global fuel supplies were disrupted by the partial closure of the Strait of Hormuz."
