Agritech shuts down plant following SNGPL force majeure

Agritech Limited announced on Monday that its urea plant shut down due to the suspension of gas supply by Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL). The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in a notice today. It said that the SNGPL had declared force majeure following pipeline damage caused by flash floods in the Baka Khel area. “Gas supply shall be restored back as soon as the repair work is completed,” the notice read. The company said that the plant will remain non-operational until then. “Further updates will be communicated in due course,” it added. Agritech Limited was incorporated in Pakistan in 1959 as Pak-American Fertilizers Limited. The company is engaged in the production and sale of urea and granulated single super phosphate fertiliser, and its products are sold under the brand name “Tara” in the fertiliser market.
