MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines, through Mitsubishi Motors Corp., is set to produce its first locally-made hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). This, in a bid to reduce the country’s dependence on oil imports and open the door to future exports. The Department of Finance (DOF) said on Monday local HEV production aligns with the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act.
