HEAT INDEX WATCH as of April 6, 2026: Danger level in 3 areas

MANILA, Philippines — The heat index on Monday reached the danger level or 42ºC and above in three areas, according to the state weather bureau. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), defines heat index as the measure of the contribution that high humidity makes with abnormally high temperatures in reducing the body’s ability to cool itself. Indices ranging from 42ºC and 51ºC are tagged “danger” levels due to increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could then lead to heat stroke.
