Shrapnel rains over Ramat Gan - Rescue efforts underway after missile fragments strike building in central Israel

"Ramat Gan was struck by submunitions on Monday after a reported large-scale Iranian ballistic missile attack involving cluster warheads hit central Israel. Footage shows emergency workers and a K9 conducting search and rescue operations at a building that partially collapsed after being struck by shrapnel fallout. Reports indicate that Iran used missiles carrying cluster warheads. In Ramat Gan, first responders identified several impact sites where submunitions struck the area. Magen David Adom (MDA) said they treated at least one 44-year-old individual who was moderately injured by a blast from a submunition in the city. This comes after the IRGC said it had launched a broader wave of ballistic missile attacks against Israel on Sunday in response to the state's attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure. Tensions have escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, amid diplomatic talks aimed at curbing 'Iran's nuclear and missile programmes'. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israeli and US assets in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor."
