Sindh CM prohibits schools from raising van fares

On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the School Education Department has issued an official notification prohibiting any increase in school van fares across the province. The order, dispatched to all public and private educational institutions, imposes a strict ban on raising pick-and-drop transport fees for students. The provincial government clarified that despite recent hikes in fuel prices, transport charges must remain unchanged to avoid placing an additional financial burden on parents. The decision applies to both school-managed transport systems and private van services operated independently by parents or third-party contractors. To ensure compliance, the provincial government has directed all educational institutions to submit comprehensive data regarding their student transport services, including details of all vans and operators. While the government has decided to provide certain facilities to transport operators to ease the transition, the School Education Department warned that strict action would be taken against institutions or operators found violating these orders.
