"UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Foreign Minister of Kuwait Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The sides discussed regional developments and their implications for regional and international security and stability. Footage shows the two officials holding talks attended by Emirati and Kuwaiti delegations. UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan can also be seen bidding farewell to his Kuwaiti counterpart. According to Emirati media, discussions focused on developments in the Middle East and the impact they are having on regional and global security and stability. The report added that both sides also reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation and joint action in support of their mutual interests. On Monday, the UAE Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted 519 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,210 drones launched from Iran. Tensions escalated sharply after the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, during ongoing diplomatic talks aimed at "undermining Iran's nuclear and missile programmes". Tehran subsequently announced retaliatory strikes on Israel and US assets across the region. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed and later succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei. The conflict widened further after Hezbollah launched strikes on Israel, saying they were in retaliation for Khamenei’s assassination and Israeli operations in Lebanon. The conflict saw shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz disrupted following its effective closure, pushing the price of oil benchmark Brent Crude above $100. "
