'Despite the pain, our resolve strengthens' - Nabatieh ambulance crews distribute bread in relief efforts

"Ambulance teams in Nabatieh continue to support residents in southern Lebanon despite limited resources, with their latest effort focused on distributing bread to local families. Footage captured on Monday shows ambulances rolling through the streets and gathering at the relief distribution sites, where first responders handed out bags of bread to local families. "From the very start of the war, Nabatieh Ambulance has been operating under a pre-set plan for relief work. We launched a project to distribute essential supplies to steadfast residents of the city," shared Mahdi Sadiq, the head of Nabatieh Ambulance Services. Sadiq said the initiative first began during Ramadan, when emergency medical technicians distributed iftar meals to 'around 150 families' after the latest outbreak of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. "We keep going with this effort. Some days we manage, others we don't," he added. "Despite the loss and the pain, our resolve only strengthens, the sense of duty grows heavier, and we must fulfil it. [...] We strive to fulfil what we see as part of our principles, our ethics, and our national responsibility." Nabatieh has been subjected to near-daily Israeli airstrikes since the latest round of hostilities began, resulting in dozens of casualties and extensive damage to homes and infrastructure. On Monday, IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee issued a warning to the residents of Toul, Amaa and Ansar in the Nabatieh region, saying, "Hezbollah's activities force the IDF to operate with determination against them in those areas". Tensions have escalated across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, amid diplomatic talks aimed at curbing 'Iran's nuclear and missile programmes'. Tehran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with his son Mojtaba Khamenei named as his successor. The conflict spilt over into Lebanon as Hezbollah intervened 'in revenge' for the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader. Shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, were disrupted following its closure."
