Nasa loses contact with Artemis II capsule just hours after setting historic record

Nasa has lost contact with the Artemis II capsule after it rounded the dark side of the Moon. Just hours after setting the record for the furthest distance a human has ever flown from Earth , the Orion module has been cut off entirely. This is expected - with the radio and laser signals that allow communication between the spacecraft and Earth now blocked by the Moon itself. For 40 minutes, engineers on the ground in Houston will face a nervous wait for the team of four to regain a signal. "To all of you down there, we love you from the Moon," pilot Victor Glover said before the cut-off. "Houston copies, we'll see you on the other side," a scientist at Nasa said in response. Mr Glover replied: "We will see you on the other side," before silence set in. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say More to follow... Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter
