Magnitude 5.1 quake an aftershock of 2025’s deadly tremor in Bogo, Cebu

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The magnitude 5.1 earthquake that struck Bogo City, northern Cebu on Monday, April 6 was an aftershock of last year’s major tremor, state seismologists said. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), in an updated report, confirmed that Monday’s shaking was related to the 2025 6.9-magnitude quake that also hit Bogo City.
