Nigeria: Lagos Moves to Decongest Correctional Centres and Upgrade Facilities, Frees 43 Inmates

[This Day] Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the release of 43 inmates from correctional centres across the State, as part of ongoing efforts to decongest custodial facilities and strengthen the criminal justice system. This follows the December 2025 release of 91 inmates, under similar measures.
