On Monday evening, a car in the Gmünd area of Lower Austria veered off the country road and ended up in the Lainsitz River. The 43-year-old owes his chances of recovery to the courageous first responders. They jumped into the icy water and pulled the man from the sinking car. The accident victim had to be resuscitated.
