CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A federation of modern jeepney and bus operators here has suspended operations due to rising fuel costs caused by the war in the Middle East. Luzviminda Escobidal, president of the PN Roa Canitoan Transport Cooperative (PONTRASCO), said they stopped fielding their buses effective April 6 as diesel prices surged by as much as P18.80 per liter. Escobidal added that the cooperative will keep its fleet grounded “until further notice,” or until diesel prices stabilize and government agencies release the promised fuel and food subsidies.
